Sandcasting
Sandcasting โ or sand casting โ is one of the oldest techniques for shaping metal. The process is simple and powerful: a model is pressed into compacted sand to create a mold, and then molten metal is poured into that space. When the metal cools and solidifies, the mold is broken and a piece is born with an organic, unrepeatable texture.
What makes this technique special is its imperfection. Each grain of sand leaves its mark on the metal, creating surfaces with a unique character โ rough, alive, authentic. No two pieces are alike. At MDK, we use sandcasting to create jewelry that preserves that raw energy of the artisan process, combined with a clean, contemporary design.
